Second year have been busy recently designing a logo for some fast food packaging.
The pupils have been investigating the effects of colour - looking at Harmony and Contrast, and how different colours make people feel.
The pupils have also been looking at some famous logos and they different types of shape that they are made up from - for example the Apple logo is very organic, while the Adidas logo is very geometric.
The pupils are now taking their favourite ideas and improving them, as well as considering different colour options. The next step is to think about the colours for the rest of the packaging, then draw their logos on the computer ready to print them onto their own packaging.
This sort of work ties in very well with two subjects that they could choose to take at Standard Grade from the Technical department next year - Craft and Design, and Graphic Communication.
