I have had a small number of books sitting at the front of my room for about a week now, and I think every class without fail has mentioned the one about Phillipe Starck - the one with the cover shown to the right here.
Philippe Starck is one of my favourite designers and one whose work I think everybody can look at and take something away from. They may not like anything of his, or they may love it all, or anywhere inbetween, but what his work does do is spark conversation and this is why I love having this book in my room.
He turns the mundane into something far more interesting, and very often produces beautiful solutions for problems. I would encourage anyone to go and have a look at his work. I would also encourage you all just to start looking around you more - to see if you can see the world in anything like the same way as he does.
